It is our members that give Senior Mobile Dental its strength. For nearly 6 years as a award winning grass roots solution, our members have led policy innovation, driving smart change for elderly. And, for nearly 6 years, our members have helped us impact public policy. Each member helps us create new ideas, reach others, magnify our impact, and ensure implementation of the policy ideas that our work generates.
Our mission is to bring oral health care and education to the vulnerable elderly in Colorado, and offer replication and expansion of Senior Mobile Dental nationally. Senior Mobile Dental is a 501c3, volunteer and professional driven non-profit organization. Senior Mobile Dental partners with local and multi state older adult affiliations to raise awareness of the impact and oral health crisis the elderly are in due to difficulties faced accessing professional care and limited government and public support. Funding is utilized for providing care, education and expansion throughout our nation.
Many retired and young professionals want to volunteer in their community, but don’t know where to start. Senior Mobile Dental is here to help. We need professionals committed to our nonprofit volunteer opportunities.
Purpose and Responsibility:
SMD is an innovative award winning organization addressing the oral health crisis the elderly are in, and creating program solutions and education about this crisis. The Membership Engagement Committee will help the SMD Board understand the constituents/demographic of expansion. The committee will help work with SMD Board Members to make recommendations and execute strategies/plans to help engage more young and retired professionals throughout the year.
Senior Mobile Dental is seeking individuals with experience and passion for the community and engaging young and retired professionals in philanthropy.
Time: Approximately 2-3 hours/month (one monthly meeting, and availability for advice by email and follow through on any personal responsibilities committed to).

The purpose of the Development Committee is to increase the long-term financial stability of Senior Mobile Dental. Members of the committee do this by:
In 2011, the Development Committee will meet in February, May, July, October, and December Meetings are 1.5 hours long during the workday. Estimated time commitment = 2.5 hours per month.

The SMD Event Committee is an active group of volunteers whose hard work, connections and expertise result in increased awareness and revenue for this nonprofit.
SMD is seeking energetic individuals with experience and passion for event planning, silent auctions and securing event sponsorship. A focus for SMD is increasing connections to a wide range of individuals and corporations in the community and the nation.
Time: Approximately 10 to 20 hours in the three months leading up to an event (one to two 90-minute meetings, and availability for advice by email and follow through on any personal responsibilities committed to the event).
Responsibilities:
The BDI is a hands-on entrepreneurial learning experience! Work on strategic projects that drive the growth of Senior Mobile Dental! As a business development intern, you'll focus on special projects related to lead generation, marketing, product planning and evaluating partnership opportunities. You'll learn how to assess a company's current portfolio and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for Senior Mobile Dental to expand and sustain our program in Colorado and nationally.

^ top of pageLooking for an internship to put your creative writing skills to use, at the same time making a difference? Senior Mobile Dental needs an intern that already has skills in not only grant writing, but also grant research. Since this internship does not require office hours, the ideal candidate must be extremely disciplined and work independently. Senior Mobile Dental is in its 5th year of operation, and our innovative solution to this problem has created the need for more growth and expansion. Therefore, we really need someone that is willing to grow with us in developing our grant writing position. The ideal candidate will have experience in grant writing and also the self motivation to research new grants and funding.

We need someone that is technically savvy to keep up with our social media, but also is able to research our cause and keep the community informed on what Senior Mobile Dental is doing. The qualified candidate will have experience in all types of social media and is not afraid to research new way to market our organization. The ability to update our website, social media accounts, email blasts, learn various online programs and have proficient computer skills will required on a consistent basis. The ideal candidate will be self motivated and work independently from home.
